For the interior design of the Depero Club in Rieti, Italian designer Tommaso Guerra used almost exclusively salvaged materials, clearly having fun mixing up recycled and repurposed furniture and fittings. The walls are covered with old doors that have been stripped and sanded, then adorned with a mixture of arms from six different antique chandeliers, their bulbs shielded with vintage shades. On the tables, collections of old tiles from Spain are pieced together to add an extra layer of pattern, and the overhead ceiling lights were made using a pretty jumble of all the other left over chandelier arms.Simple tin cans and jars hold drinks and decorations on the tiled table tops, while the lights twinkle dimly overhead creating a cosy and atmospheric retreat away from the busy italian streets.
